It looks like Tigridia to me. Very pretty! Does it go dormant?

I don't know if it goes dormant or not. They're from a neighbors front yard. She actually lived behind me and all our talking was over the fence, backyard to backyard, and these were in her front yard. So believe it or not, I never saw them to see if they go dormant or not. She died last month and her relatives have given me permission to take things before they die, so I took some of these. I've been trying to id them ever since.

It's a Neomarica gracilis. A google image search will bring it up.

If it is a Neomarica, I think it would be Neomarica longifolia. I'm not certain if it is, but it's certainly a good place to start. So is Tigridia, but I'm not really familiar with them.

Thanks for the help. I looked both up and I believe it's N. Longifolia now. I've started some shoots for trading if anyone's interested.

Yep. It's a walking iris.

Trimezia Martiniensis check the spelling, it's a walking iris and will make babies on the ends of the flowering stalks.

I found a site that said Trimezia Martiniensis and Neomarica longifolia are the same plant. I thought the botanical names were to un-confuse things, lol. They look the same to me.
