unwanted blue

yardart

Several years ago I split up an old patch of yellow irises that had been a gift. They ended up in a 34 foot long 3 foot wide swath of gold that glows. The first year after transplanting they bloomed and there was one pale blue iris. "MMMMN." I thought. The next year there were three and this year there are at least 4 dozen. After checking with FAQ I have learned that irises do not change colour so this is a result of bees and new iris seed. Now, although there are no unattractive flowers the pale blue is just too plain for me. But just for clarification I'm not losing my gold iris am I? They bloom earlier than the gold.
