Droopy Louisiana Iris Leaves

Posted by Grandma914 South Texas (My Page) on

I just bought and planted a Louisiana Iris. C'est si bon... A first in my garden. The bloom is upright and beautiful, but the leaves have all drooped. Should I cut them back? I know with other plants doing so helps direct growing energy to the rooting process. Any advice is appreciated!

No no no. Not until they've at least yellowed and can no longer produce food. I wait for them to brown. Maybe 3 months after bloom?

How moist is the soil? Louisianas love water.
