Last fall, these were rescued from a house where the new owners redid their entire landscape. I received about 6 clumps and planted them at my guy's house. Someone had written "Purple" "White" "Yellow" on some of the leaves...but not all, so I tried to sort them out but I'm sure they are mixed together (gah). Well, as they say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I'm taking progress photos to compare each year to the last or next. These iris, on a North facing hill seem to be at least a zone behind the rest of the iris on the same block. So frustrating.

I was already resigned to no blooms, figuring I planted these too deep last Semptember.

But WAIT A SECOND! What's that? It's a bud with a second one behind it. And now that I look closer at some other clumps, they have buds too! I am SO EXCITED!
