I have an idea that will help out some of you that have mixed colors of irises that you want to separate, or clumps that are growing into one another that you want to know for sure whoÂs who later on, without having to dig them out now.

You know the little twisties and plastic clips that come on bread bags and such? Just attach a different colors to the bloomstalks of each color/cultivar. That way, you can divide them later on and easily see whatÂs what. i.e. Red is ÂCimarron RoseÂ, white is ÂBaby BlessedÂ.

Not that this idea is particularly earth-shattering, but it occurred to me this morning and I was feeling pretty pleased with myself, so I thought IÂd share.
