What kind of iris is this?

NOID iris. Very narrow leaves, 2" flowers, skinny corms. They were here when I bought the house and they grow like weeds. But I like them.

It looks like a Siberian Iris. Maybe Caesar's Brother.

Thank you, Harryshoe. After googling, siberian iris, Caesar's Brother, it seems to fit. It's a very pretty little thing. I like it a lot. Happy gardening to you.

It might be a "pretty little thing" now. If you give it just a little care, it will get big. And dense. Five-year old plants in my front bed are 36" wide and bloom for a month.

When the bloom period ends, the foliage remains beautiful until November. It looks like ornamental grass, only greener!

Ah, thanks for posting a pic. The buds on mine are identical. Your plant is great, but I'm afraid mine won't ever look that good due to inadequate sun.

That SI gets 10 hours of sun a day. Actually, it is 4' wide. It will have hundreds of blooms over the next 3 weeks.
