Nancy asked me to compair Merchant Marine to Sea Power so here it is.

Both Sea Power and Merchant Marine were in my top five favorites last year. I do love blue iris and I do love ruffled iris so it is not a big surprise that I love them.

To compair, both are ruffled but Sea Power is more ruffled. Merchant Marine is closer to real true blue for me while Sea Power has a trace of gray added to the blue. Don't get me wrong, it is blue just a different shade. Both of the are large flowers maybe Sea Power slightly larger but not noticeable. Neither is small like say Dangerous Mood for instance.

Merchant Marine wouldn't co-operate for picture taking and had fallen down so its not showing it's form as well. But both have falls that go down, not out and both have the lovely bubble rounded form to the tops that I like.

First Wave

This is a new iris this year blooming I also bought from Schreiners just to add to the mix. Nice and ruffled like Sea Power and more true blue like Merchant Marine.
