Thanks for the head's up! I'll just state my question here- IF that's ok!

I have two man made fish ponds, approz 10x10 each. They are FULL (very little water/space left in them) of a beautiful mauve pink iris w/ a yellow throat. I love this iris...but I will NOT put it in our creek or our farm ponds because I have seen what it does... So, I was wondering if I could just plant some of them in our heavy red clay soil and keep them watered...Is there a way to keep them w/ out introducing them into our natural water ways??? Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts?...thanks QB

If they are Louisiana irises they will grow just fine in your clay soil as long as you keep it moist. I think they look wonderful on the banks of a pond.
