Louisiana in Wyoming?

I REALLY want to grow these. I LOVE iris. All types. But I am itching to grow LA iris. Can I grow these in Zone 4 Wyoming? Can you make recommendations as to placement in terms of sun, soil and moisture for best success? I can grow TB and flag iris with no difficulties at all. They grow like gangbusters! I want to add LA to my yard but I need help. I got a WONDERFUL gift of several variety of LA iris a few years ago from my husband and after a couple of years they all died. Since they were such a thoughtful gift it just killed me that they all died. I'd like to try again but I don't want to fail. I'd welcome any advice you can give.

LA is a swamp.. basically.. yes???

Wyoming is arid drought country .. yes???

so what would we suspect is the key ... constant moisture in swamp like soil ...

all that and they are only hardy to z5 ... and you are zone 4 ... so i suppose.. since you can manipulate soil structure..

can you dig and store them like potatoes over the winter???

and i dont know that answer ....

unless you are willing to mail order them and treat them as annuals ...
