Leaf Spot.

I got leaf spot. Never had it before. It has been an unusually cool year in Southern California, it was overcast and gray all week here and even rained.

I don't know where it came from, but I bought a lot of irises last year, and I got some from members of my iris club. However it arrived, it is here with a vengeance. I have been cutting off affected leaves and throwing them away, but I'll bet the fungus is in the soil by now because I use overhead sprinklers.

I don't want irises if the foliage looks ugly. Is there any way to get rid of this fungus, or is it permanent? Does anyone have any war stories to tell, any tips on how to eliminate it? I'm willing to dig up every plant if necessary.

Furthermore, if I soak the rhizomes in 10% bleach solution are they safe to give away to friends? These are from plants that have very little spotting, and I cut off the affected leaves as soon as I noticed.

It's always something, isn't it?
