Who do you buy from?

Hello! I was wondering where some of you like to order your iris on-line. I have had some luck with local nurseries, but none can compare with some of the beauties on-line. Thanks!!

So true! I have been very happy with Schreiner's. They send huge rhizomes and have never been out of the iris I want. I recommend getting their print catalog, since the online photos don't really reflect the colors well.

I have also ordered from Wild Iris Rows and they were wonderful, sending me extra rhizomes when they were out of an iris I wanted.

If you visit Carlos' webpage at Brighton Park Irises he has a whole list of online iris nurseries and his experiences with them.

Finally, I find that when I order irises rather than buy them rooted they may take an extra year to bloom.

If you do a search you'll find lots of discussion of growers/sellers.

A suggestion was to buy from a grower in your climate area. In your case it would be east of the Rockies. Less chance of rot I believe. The rhizomes are already adapted to freezing winters.

The last several years I have been buying from Schreiners and would highly recommend them to anyone. The quaity and service are absolutly top notch. I am looking forward to buying from several other places as well though but just to enlargen selection.
