Janes palette is sure a pretty deep red. My Whethersfield red has started blooming today but the color is faded this year and the blooms on all my iris so far are short and small. I kind of think our lack of any real summer last year and our lack of any sun this spring is affecting the color and the flower size. My iris season started two days ago with Superstition and today I had a nice suprise when WhethersfielD red, Miss Moonbeam , Twist of Fate and Change of Pace and Rare Treat decided to all bloom at once.

Marge, are you sure your first iris is 'Rock Star'? I have 'Rock Star' and it doesn't look anything like that. So I am curious, now if mine is mislabeled.

It was labeled Rock Star when I bought it so that's what I thought it was. I just checked several other sites and it definitely isn't. Wonder who it is? The search is on. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Marg

I looked thru Blue J iris catalogue and I think the one labeled Rock Star is a Schreiner's called Change of Pace.

Change of Pace/Rock Star is beautiful, just love that color. Someone else on the forum posted Change of Pace, I remember really liking that one.

Beautiful blooms. Distant Chimes is my fave. I was lucky, none of my irises were flattened from those storms last night. I thought for sure they would be.

Both of your first pictures have lovely iris that look like they might be pretty near each other. They are pretty, but I really like the first two.

Yes, it is Change of Pace. You are the second person I know who bought Rock Star and got Change of Pace. Weird. It's a real beauty, though.
