Iris atropurpurea....funny leaves?

I just bought and planted an atropurpurea iris. The leaves remind me of a lily plant. They dont look like a fan. Is this because the plant is young? Is this type a rebloomer?

Iris atropurpurea is in the Oncocyclus section(of Aril Irises) and is from Israel.

The 3rd photo down at this site shows the entire plant. Its leaves look more like a bulbous type iris than bearded. Very exotic bloom!
