Iris bed

Hey everyone, I just dug out my iris today (they were super overcrowded). I did find some borers, and I did the whole bleach thing and got rid of anything questionable (yuck). I have nowhere else to re-plant the iris except this same bed of dirt. Anyone got any tips for what to do/add to the soil to help my new iris succeed? NOTE: I don't really have the money right now to go buy fertilizer and stuff. Organic/natural/household ideas would be best.

I'm also concerned about removing any remanents of the borer or that root rot stuff from the soil. Thinking of taking a blowtorch to it and then maybe adding in some compost? What do you guys think?
