Seed pods on Aureo Variegata ?

I've had a few varieties of iris over the years, but this is the first time I've ever seen seed pods.

Currently, I have only 2 varieties: Albo variegata and Aureo variegata, which bloomed at the same time, after all the neighborhood bearded iris.

So, I could presume that the Albo fertilized the Aureo.

I know that rarely do iris come true from seed. My question is this: how likely are the babies to be variegated?

I'm not terribly great at seed starting, so ideally, I'd love to sow them into the garden. I'd love tips on this.

Any thoughts?
