Newbie question

I'm sorry if this is a silly question i am very new at this. I moved some irises and am wondering if they are ok...the leaves have fallen over but they are still bright green and don't look dead at all-just not standing up.

RE: Newbie question

It is OK to cut the leaves back to about 6" or so, to keep them from toppling over and out of the soil. I would guess that if you left them all on, they would likely pull the rhizome out of the soil. Did you plant them with the top of the rhizome out of the soil slightly?

You might want to check this out...How do I dig, divide, and transplant bearded irises?...one of the FAQ here.
