If you got a mislabelled iris...

| ... from a very reputable iris grower, would you e-mail them a picture and ask if they could tell you what it really is?
I got this TB from Chuck Chapman three years ago and it hasn't bloomed until now, and it's nothing I ordered. It's also not currently on his website. I'm a little embarassed to accuse them of mislabeling but I would like to know what it is, I think it's rather nice. (BTW do any of you recognize it?)

Oh yes, you should let them know. I'm sure they would be happy to correct the problem and to give you a name for the iris they mistakenly sent, even if they no longer sell it. It is a very pretty iris, and I wish I could help you with an ID. Renee

I don't know Chapman's iris enuf to hazard a guess. They will be very happy to replace or refund/credit. Every grower has this happen now and then. Most even have guarantees stated on their websites. If you learn its identity please let us know :-)

Thanks. I e-mailed him and explained that I wasn't complaining, just wanted to know the name. I don't even know what it was supposed to be because I moved and the names got mixed up and a couple died in the winter. I'll let you know what he says. I think it's a nice iris too, but the best thing about it is that it's a big TB that is actually increasing here in zone 2/3.

So Chuck e-mailed me back and said it's something that showed up in one of his plantings of Cinnamon Girl. That is one iris I had ordered so it makes sense. He doesn't know if it's named or if it is just a seedling or a sport.

Thanks NorthSpruce. It really looks to be a nice pastel. Hope you receive Cinnamon Girl --- quite a different look!
