What a wonderful Iris, this a 2nd year clump and it was a poor year as seen in the photo.

I don't know why the question mark is used in the title of the post. SW is so deserving and it's the first time for an intermediate bearded to win. It is only the second median iris to get a Dykes' Medal. The Dykes' is open to all classes except bulbous and it would be wonderful to see a beardless win. There are so many deserving ones. Even to a Spec-X, a cross between two different species, like a pseudata, which is a cross between a pseudacorus and ensata (Japanese). If you can grow a pseudacorus, then you probably could grow a pseudata - even in the West and colder climates. They grow in Canada!
