Haircuts for Siberians?

This may be heresy, but I can't help it: my Siberians are out of control, and every time I look at them I can't help but want to give them mohawks. I love them during the garden's blue period, but sheesh. How wrong would it be to give them a little haircut? Maybe just enough so that their leaves don't flop all over?

Nobody here will ever truly know what you do with your iris. You don't need to ask for our permission. I have never had Siberian iris, but I would imagine that reducing their leaf area for feeding themselves would perhaps slow them down a bit. I think experimenting is okay, as long as you don't get too caught up in a negative result, if there is one.
