2 years ago we planted a grouping of Japanese iris. They have bloomed prolifically for us. In a couple of days we are having some people come to see our garden and in a flurry of "cleaning things up", I decided to clip off not only the withered flowers but the pod below them to just above the next leaf. After I was finished I suddenly had the terrible thought that I had just "murdered" my beautiful iris.â¹â¹â¹ Could someone please tell me if I did, and if so, if it's a lost cause for them to come up again next year.
