Two lovely surprises this week (2 pics)

Iris in September! As far as I know, I don't have any rebloomers. The first one is Pinkness. Not sure what the other is. The tag says Midnight Fragrance. Um, I don't think so. :-)

I thought there was a slight (very slight) difference in color on these, but maybe I'm wrong and I received two Pinknesses in error.

They look almost like my 'Pink Beauty', which is a consistent re-bloomer here in Phoenix. No idea how it would behave up there, or if 'Pinkness' ever re-blooms. Good luck on the ID! :)

What is the nifty purple flower in the front?

Perfect time to compare each stalk to see if the branching pattern is the same. Very pretty rebloomers.

I think they are definitely 2 different cultivars. The second one, to me seems a lot more ruffled than the first one.

Here is a link that might be useful: Pinkness

Brock,

You may be right. I've only seen white tall ones. In bloom now.

Thanks

Yes, nicotiana. The alata variety comes in various shades of purple, pink, and white.

I don't know why I didn't notice the difference in ruffling. Thank goodness for GardenWeb, and members with good eyesight. :-)

Thanks!
