The only one I know is Ida Red;
it's a Ft Worth-bred iris, & it's just gorgeous, a deep luscious burgundy/black red.

If you're a true iris addict, go to the Ft Worth Iris Society sale Sept 25 (9 AM until they sell out) at the Ft Worth Botanic Gardens.

Ida Red is the only red iris sold by Greenwood Nursery here in CA, because they sell to landscapers, and they want super-reliability.

Cherry Glen is just beautiful.

A friend & I were walking the rows at an iris growers and she chose Dracula's Shadow. Something about it caught her artist's eye. She wasn't interested in any of the newer/more popular purples (Titan's Glory, Dusky Challenger, etc).

Thanks, all. Sounds like I got some good, sturdy stuff. I have trouble keeping reds and near-blacks happy here, so maybe these will change my luck.
