| What are the best colors in brown iris? |
Follow-Up Postings:
| My new favorite is 'Chocolate Ecstasy' (O.Schick 2001) 'Rustler' is a good one if you like rust colored. |
| The only true brown I have is "Huckleberry Fudge" and all the visitors to my garden just love it. The colors aren't just right in this picture - it is a true brown. |
| Browns are hard to find. I like Game Plan, Rustle of Spring, Rembrandt Magic, and Chocolate Chess. Golden Panther has brownish tones in my soil. A lady from about ten miles away in Delta soil brought GP to our show and it was really brown. |

| Thanks to everyone on their comments about Brown Iris. At one time I though Olympio was considered "Brown" Where does one find a realiable commercial grower for Browns?? |
| The sdb - Death By Chocolate - from Snowpeak Iris |
| HappyTomato, To my knowledge no ones specializes in one particular color of beardeds. Many reliable growers carry some "brown" cultivars. There is a good sized list at the AIS site (link below). Dave's Garden doesn't list sources for Chocolate Ecstacy but a gal in Canada has put up 2 good pics. |

| Thanks to all in reference to "Brown" Iris. |
| I used to grow this one, Ruffled Copper Sunset: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/126704/ Also, Blyth's "Touch of Mahogany" was an outstanding grower here. It has a washed out look in the middle of the falls, though, so it might not have the color you crave. Mike |
