Blooming on September 11th

This is so strange. JI, Sing the Blues bloomed yesterday on September 11th. This picture was taken today. My bee pods from Cast of Characters and Mysterious Ways turned out to be air pods. Boo Hoo. Still without the use of my right arm. It will be 3 months tomorrow since I broke it, and I still can't use it. Hopefully it will be better by next year, because this year has not been very productive. Anyway, this really cheered me up!

So pretty. Is this normal or when should you have expected the bloom?

JI's are supposed to bloom here in July. Last year I planted my first Japanese irises, 7 of them. Only one of them bloomed in July, Pinkerton. I sure was surprised when Sing the Blues bloomed on 09/11.

Here is Pinkerton that bloomed in July.
