Grow Beard Iris Under Black Walnut Root Zone

I cut down a black walnut tree with about 8" diameter. I've cut most of the main roots and cut the stump flush to the ground. I know there are still a lot of live roots in the ground and some will definitely come out.

From doing research, some of the iris is considered "safe" under black walnut roots. But beard iris is not on the "safe" list.

Here I just want to hear the real experience with growing beard iris under black walnut root zone. The root zone is quite large and I run out of room with my beard iris. I can lose some of the iris since I'll have to give them away if I do not plant them. But I just want to know my expectation first.
