Preen on new Iris bed?

I recently transplanted some bearded iris into a new bed. Is it possible to use Preen without doing any harm to the rhizomes? Will it prevent new growth from appearing next season? Thank you so very much for any help you can give me.
Linda

Go for it, I use it in all my gardens or Ronstar...never hurt any plant to date.

Yep, I agree. No damage using it over new plantings here either.

The only place you don't want to use it is where you are direct sowing seeds. It will prevent them from germinating. Once they have sprouted though, it is OK to apply Preen even on new seedlings.
