Thanks to Herb for the inspirationl pictures and all the others who responded. My gate is finally complete. I tried to keep it simple and stay away from the jail cell look.
It gives an amazing measure of privacy to the garden.

Thanks to all!

Thanks for the kind comments. I had a good chuckle because believe it or not, I did measure the height of the gate to fit a bobcat/skidsteer underneath! I had been pondering what kind of latching mechanism to use. The beauty of the latching is that there is none. It was built to fit together with the center 2x4's kind of working on a cam system. The back edges are chamfered to fit together in a slight v shape. I then sanded (and sanded and sanded) so that the fronts touch but just barely. The gate can be opened with a firm push from the outside. I really have no need for a lock or latch.

Clear as mud?
Thanks again for your kind comments and inspiration

Japanese? lol Your amazing gate looks like a traditional Romanian one to me! Every house in my homeland comes with a front wall and gate.

Here are a few examples right click and copy to your browswer:

Japanese or not, I give you ten extra points for reminding me of my beautiful homeland.

Be proud,
