Prunus mume Kanko Bai

Just bought a Prunus mume 'Kanko Bai' and wanted to find out if I can grow this tree on Maui's upper elevation, 2700 ft, where winters are mild.

It's 'Kan-kobai', to differentiate it from 'Kobai'. 2007 edition of Sunset WESTERN GARDEN BOOK, which indicates Hawaiian zones for plants thought suitable lists none for Japanese apricot. Most stone fruits require winter chilling.
