Hi all,
I am a new comer for this website and gardening. I just want to find out if it is possible to plant some Yoshino cherry trees in my back yard? I live in NW Calgary which is located in Southern Alberta Canada. According to the user Yama, it is similar to the weather in nothern Hokkaido. So I guess there might be a chance that I could do it. I also did some research on various ornamental cherry trees such as Higan-zakura, Shidare-zakura, Shirotae cherry...etc. They are surely beautiful!! Sakura hoshii!! Please give me some advices or resources that I can study more about it. Thank you in advance.

| Is it also A.K.A. Sargent Cherry? That's a beauty too. However, some websites say that it's only good for zone 4-7?? Do I have a chance? |

| This is one of the hardiest ones. It is hardier than Prunus X yedoensis. Perhaps none of them are hardy there. Do you see any around? |
