Creating an 'Accent Bonsai Pot' yourself...?

I was wondering if anyone in there Japanese Gardening endeavors has ever designed or made their own Bonsai Pots, either at home or at a Pottery School/Store and had any success with this project. I have a two very special "Bonsai Babies" that I would love to make extra special by trying my hand at "creating".

I've made pots out of hypertufa. Not your traditional bonsai style but just as suitable and in my area Winter proof. Not sure I remember how to post a picture.
