What do you think are the best gardens in the Niigata area? I've been waiting for the snow to melt before venturing up there. Last week they finally cleared out a mountain pass between Miyagi and Yamagata, and the walls of snow on each side of the road were more than 6m high! Anyway, Niigata's not quite that bad. What gardens do you recommend?
