 o
good source for hakonechloa aureola?

I've found few places on the web offering this, and they come in little 4" pots that cost $60 for 4, including shipping! Would love to find a supplier of bigger plants, local or mail order, or to make a trade.

If you find it, post it .... I am looking, too!

I think it's expensive because it's slow growing. I bought a couple 1-gallon pots of variegated Hakone at a local nursery a couple of years ago for about $12 each. I divided each pot into three plants. For some reason, some of the divisions thrived while others have barely grown. Last year I transplanted a few divisions to containers with good potting soil, and they have done very well. I might just plant a container just with Hakone.

Have you checked your local nurseries? I found some this weekend at a nearby nursery and bought another pot since mine has been growing so slow. It was $14 for a one-gallon plant. I'm going to grow it in a large container.

Normally I would have just divided some of my other plants, but I hate to tamper with my other Hakone clumps since they grow so slowly.
