Low Water, Oak Root Resistant Plants/Trees for Slope

| Hi Everyone -- I'm finding myself quite challenged in trying to figure out what to plant on a slope, that has oak root fungus......and I need the plants to be low water use, and give me a Japanese edge of forestlook. Looking for smallish-med trees, and shrubs. Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped!
Thanks!

| Nandina does well under my live oaks which have extensive root runners near the surface. They have never been watered and have prospered even in a recent 17 month drought. Nandina has a slightly bamboo look. I also have an American Beautyberry in the same location. It adds a beautiful woodland look and has also prospered in drought without supplemental water. |
