Funny color Japanese Maples

Hi, my newly sprouted trees are of a wobbly color. They are somewhere between green and red. The mother of all of them (I have a few different types) is a rich red.
Is there something with the PH of the soil? I live in Westchester, NY--just outside NYC.
thank so much,
James

If these are seedlings they are expected to vary from the parent. If you try again with more seeds you may get some better ones, more red.
