Lions Head Jap Maple?

I looked at one at my local Box Store today, and I think I am kicking myself for not buying it. It is about 3 - 4 feet tall and was $70. Should I make a special trip to go back and get it? Can I keep it in a container or should it be in the ground? Also, the tag says morning light, dappled shade - how much sun can it tolerate?

LMK - I think it might be my Mothers Day present to myself!

If other green-leaved Japanese maple cultivars do well in full sun there then this one will also.

saw one at my local nursery the other day, probably 5ft tall or so, and they wanted $229 for it. I'd get it if it was only $70.
