Question about a tree?

I have recently received a Japanese sunrise tree without instructions on how to raise it or make it grow. It is currently 6 inches tall. All I know is that it doesnt seam to like a lot of sun, so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
(and if I put this in the wrong place, im sorry, please no yelling)

Any idea what the botanical name is?

Maybe the palmatum cultivar 'Japanese sunrise'.
