Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows the English or botanical name of this Japanese palm (biroyashi, I think in Japanese) I have posted an image in the photo gallery. Any help much appreciated.

It looks to me like some sort of Trachycarpus - probably Trachycarpus fortunei - also called Windmill Palm, Chinese Windmill Palm, Chinese fan palm & Chusan Palm.

Thank you very much. So its not native to Japan but East Asia - that's really helpful, thanks again.
