| I have seen on some pics of japanese homes that they use large bamboo poles cut in two as rain gutters. And then attach a rain chain to them so the water can flow into the ground or drain....
How common is this in japan? I have built a roof over my deck, and now its time to put the rain gutters into place. I think making them out of bamboo would be a nice touch indeed. And if I conserve the inner with some kind of sealant it should be pretty durable. kind regards

| Why let the bamboo contact the water at all? You could easily line it with roofing rubber, sheet copper, asphaltum, etc. |
