Where I live swimming pools are everywhere. How many GW members have incorporated swimming pools in their Japanese gardens? If so, how do you keep chlorine from killing the plants?

Chlorinated pools work as long as there is an impervious liner and splashing is not a huge problem. I have had waterfalls with chlorinated water running near wood fern, maples, and juniper with no ill effects.

Continued splashing without leaching would be a problem.

I would think that splashing is always present in a swimming pool, and I don't know if it should be called "a problem." After all, that's what swimming pools are for.

Go for it Kieth the swimming pool sounds really appropriate, maybe you could even incorporate a diving board in the style of a torii or even a church steeple?

I just installed above ground swimming pool 33'round.Is it a good idea to backfill low spots and surrond entire pool with pea gravel?
