Japanese Garden in Dallas/ Ft. Worth

Any J-garden installers in the D/FW area? I have recently been contacted by someone who wants a design (I will provide that), but we'll need an installer down the road. I'm also interested to hear what plant material I can get away with (as a northener, I have been stymied when it comes to crepe myrtle and abelias and a dozen other plants I'd love to be able to use...Can I use japanese maples there or not? (Seems to be a mix of opinion...)

hey scott

i'm not an "installer" but have created a japanese-style garden and would be happy to furnish some suggestions regarding plant placement, types of plants that are accustomed to the north texas sun (and heat) and give a look and "feel" of a japanese garden. by the way, i've got five Japanese Maples thriving in my garden along with a number of crepe myrtle, junipers, bamboo and others.

there's a nursery/bonsai farm in coppell that has a wide variety of plants that are perfect for a japanese style garden. the address is: Dream Gardens, 404 Southwestern Boulevard Coppell, TX 75019

and of course, you're welcome to email me privately if you like.

cheers and welcome to the metroplex!

I am also interested in installing a small Japanese garden. Any suggestions for garden designer/installers? or even the type of plants. Thanks a lot
