| I am looking for a source of info, either book or website that shows how to prune conifers and other plants in the Japanese garden style. I would like to learn the basics as well as advanced methods. Do I need to look into Bonsai books?

| I recommend that you subscribe to the Journal of Japanese Gardening. They have pruning articles in almost every issue. |

| For basics of pine pruning, I do not know of any books in English suitable for Japanese styles. Bonsai Today's "Pines", although written for bonsai, can give you an introduction to pine physiology - a requisite for training healthy pines! It covers black and white pines.
