I haven't seen it, but like you, I'm curious about it. But my first question is about this "DVD" format. Does it require special equipment to play it, or will it work with Windows Media Player or Irfanview if I just insert the disk into my computer's CD drive?

You will need a DVD drive on your computer, or you can run it on your DVD player thru your TV. DVD drives are inexpensive to add on. By the way Herb, I enjoy all of the links that you send out. Also enjoy your city very much. What a place to live!!

Doug Roth editor of the JOJG suggested that I respond to this query. I won't comment on the quality of the video as Doug has already done that. To address the question of the DVD format, it will NOT play in a CD-Rom drive although it will play in a DVD computer drive. We chose to produce only a DVD version because the visual quality is much better than VHS. The garden is small but exquisitely designed and maintained. It deserved the best viewing format available. Great forum. Thanks to the Garden Web for hosting. |

I saw the Carleton garden last year and was impressed. I was surprised by how small it was. Still, I found it much nicer than a garden that you'd have to hike around.

I purchased this video and I liked it. The Slawson lecture is perhaps more insightful than the main content.

I noticed that some Japanese garden study groups have used this video as the subject of their monthly meetings. Sounds like a good idea.
