Fitting in iris foliage

I want to make a small Japanese garden but want to include some TB irises. How do I disguise or dress up the foliage so it will fit in? I am considering a border of Festuca which is also a blue-green color in front of the irises to help the foliage blend better. Any other ideas?

Seems like you would use in same way as Japanese iris, just not in same damp situation.
