New Nitobe Memorial Garden, Victoria, B.C.

Most of the work on the lower part of this garden at the Royal Jubilee Hospital seems to be completed, though I noticed a good many small plants in pots, presumably waiting to be planted.

The shape of the Memorial Tablet and the shape of the massive rock on the right make an interesting match - see the picture 'General view'.

Further work seems to have been suspended though - the people organising the creation of the garden have not found it easy to raise enough money. Even general maintenance seems to have stopped - see the picture of the steps to the upper garden. The plant growing over the steps is a tomato!

Thanks for those pix, Herb - I love the 'bones' of the design, and can imagine how beautiful it will all become eventually - please keep us updated on the progress..

Gerald - Sorry about that - no disrespect was intended. I'll try to use the proper names for both it and the one in Vancouver.
