lone maple-out of place?

| I posted a photo in the gallery from the new/old house we moved into late this summer. We are looking for suggestions regarding a lone maple in the front. It seems out of place in the yard-lone lollipop. We are trying to decide whether to incorporate it, and how, or take it down. We've thought of a bed of groundcover going around and out and lining the street edge. The house was built in the early 70s so expect this tree is about that old. The base trunk is about 8-10" diameter. |

Kurt, A better forum would be "garden design" for your question. Also, you should try to incorporate the picture into the post. If it is easier to see the picture and the questions, you will get better responses. If you can get pictures that show the entire front of the house, that would help forum members to give advice on how to incorporate the maple and the rest of the plantings into a cohesive, pleasing design. Don't cut it down. |
