Japanese Black Pine specimen

I am looking for sources of trained Pinus thunbergiana. The optimum size would be about 2 to 3.5 meters (more or less the finish size, not to be grown much further). They would have to be shipped to San Antonio Texas or nearby. If anyone knows of any, please share.

If you are commercial, please email me so as not to violate the forum rules.

I'll answer yours if you answer mine Don.

?
:) Don, send Hoichi Kurisu an email per my recommendation if you wish, and ask him about his nurseries and his current availability, as he has nurseries on both coasts, which are pre-trained for the gardens.
(Response may not be immediate as he travels extensively, and I could also forward his assistants email/numbers in that event.)
The pine are shaped with 2 or more fronts and need last adjustments for the specific locations... you'll know what to do...

for others, this is one of the foremost gardeners involved with healthcare through gardens. Website is worth checking out.

Iseli Nurseries at one time had specimens that were preshaped. prices were high though.

Thanks, Edzard. I will make contact and maybe send him a sketch of what I am looking for.

Inkognito, I am afraid I don't know what you are referring to.

An obscure attempt at humour Don. When I noticed your post sitting at the top of the pile like mine I thought you could answer me and I would answer you. It doesn't sound quite so funny today but at least both posts are moving.

Inkognito, got it. Sometimes I am slow.

Do you think Japanese black pine will survive in San Antonio, Texas?

 o
RE: Japanese Black Pine specimen

Absolutely.

Keith, did you find your Japanese black pine? Our new yardman severely pruned (sculpted) 3 of our japanese black pines and one of our Thunderhead dwarf pines and we must replace them. The house is on Lake Conroe north of our home in Houston. We are still in shock and would be very grateful for any suggestions on a quality nursery that carries them.

My email is rwaites@theadvocates.com.

I wasn't looking for one. In fact, I have some doubts about how well they'd do in Houston, but you'd certainly know better than me about that topic. Good luck.

bonsaitx--

the person you asked is a joker, a bogus, never contributed to this forum. The brain, heart and soul is gone from the JG forum, Scott is still here, but he said that this forum is "JG for Dummies" , he can't make miracles by himself. DonPylant is an expert in Tx, but probable he was disgusted by the jokers like above poster and left too.

Ask the Conifers forum, you have better luck with them.

Yes, the "gang of four" did leave, and in my mind this forum is so much better now. The words, "refreshing" and "clean" come to mind. Herb, we're still waiting for your return!
