Question: New baby koi

| Hello! I am new to koi in general and need expert advice, please :) I was given two baby koi as a gift; however, I do not have a pond and will need to keep them in my house. I would like to take the best care of these baby fish and hope that someone might be able to point the way to an informative online site about keeping koi indoors. Alternatively, if it's not too much typing, I would be very appreciative to receive tips here! I have searched online myself and there is SO MUCH conflicting information about koi! I figured you folks would be the experts on water treatment, plants, light, tank size and food. THANK YOU in advance! Lindsey :) |

| Koi do ok as tank fish,, For a while! They grow fast and they grow large. They will out grow your tank pretty fast. They need three things circulation, filtration and aeration. As adults they require between 300 and 500 gallons per fish. So enjoy them as long as you can as tank fish and then either build them a pond or find them a home with someone that has a pond. They are fun and trainable wet pets. |
