| I have a 10,000 gal. earth pond, since the weather has warmed up a bit I have discovered about 150 babies from last year most are about 2 to 3 inches, my question is should I take some of them out and sell them to friends to get more babies or will they be ok in that lg. of a pond? |

I can't help with your question because I don't know but I would sure take a bunch off your hands if you wanted to ship some for postage. Darla |

Hi Lotus lady. Your babies will do nicely in that big pond, especially if they have rocks and plants to hide in. Your big fish will not eat them unless you have big goldfish too. (they will) They will be temptation for racoons and heron. Use a water "Scare Crow" for predators. Koi will eat their eggs, but not the fingerlings. Net out the ones with no color or bland colors and give or sell them. Keep the rest! They will be a good investment later as 2 year olds will sell of upwards 200.00 ea. Also, make sure your koi food is small enough for them to get some. So feed a varity of size pieces. Good Luck!! |
