Will Koi eat dead snake?

About 5 days ago I discovered a snake (I believe a Rat Snake about a 4 feet) eating a frog in my Koi Pond. I took out my trusty Daisy BB gun and aimed at the snakes' head and shot and it quickly recoiled into the water and I did not see it again. I assumed I either hit it and it was dieing a slow death on the bottom, or I missed or grazed it and it had slithered out of the pond and away, or it was still just lurking in the pond. But I never saw a dead carcass float to the top but I never saw a dead koi either. Then this evening, I finally saw, floated on the top, the skin and entrails of a snake, which I fished out of the pond. I have about 35-40 small (2') to large (8") koi in my pond. Is it possible that the koi would have been feasting on that dead snake on the bottom enough to just leave skin and guts in 5 days. I am hoping the answer is yes because if so I don't have to worry about this snake anymore... not until the next one!!
