In the last 24 hours have noticed suds on the surface of the koi pond around the lily pads and rocks. Does anyone know what may be causing this? Is it normal? The koi are staying close to the waterfall and did not rush over at feeding time. Any information would be appreciated.

Are they ''suds'' or air bubbles, i.e. do they persist or just form and quickly burst? Some aerators will briefly cause sudsy looking air bubbles but they dissipate quickly.

Suds or foam? Foam is produced when there are a lot of DOCs (dissolved organic compounds) in the water. Can also be from spawning.... If it is foam, you can do a quick googele for foam on koi pond There is lots of info there and lots of suggestions for preventing or fixing.
